The population of Malaysian that is having obesity is increasing every year? Based on the statistics, it shows that 17.63% from 308,039 employees are obese. Obesity is a medical condition in which excess body fat in the human body accumulated to the extent that it may have a negative effect on health. Obesity is very harmful to the human body because obesity harms and disturbed the organs in the human body. Obesity effect on the increasing of many other non communicable diseases like heart attack, arthritis, high blood pressure, premature death, varicose veins, diabetes and stroke. What worry the most is, many Malaysian citizens still have not done the Health Screening Programme regularly and periodically.
There are a few reasons that can lead to obesity :
- Genetics and ancestry
- Damage on parts of the human brain
- Excessive eating habits
- Less active with sports
- Unstable emotion
Therefore, Malaysian are advised to take precautionary measures by doing the health screening program regularly and periodically as well as taking care of their eating habits starting from now so that we can prevent the obesity problems regularly and periodically and keep your diet from now so that obesity can be avoided.
The SOCSO Health Screening Programme (HSP) was announce during the 2013 Budget by YAB Dato' Sri Mohd Najib Bin Tun Abdul Razak on 28 September 2012.The HSP is a health screening programme which will be offered to all active workers contributing to SOCSO who attain 40 years of age.
